At ESEA Propulsion we are dedicated to the design and development of new generation 100% electric nautical propulsion systems. The company was founded on the island of Menorca in 2021 by a small group closely linked to the nautical sector, the transition to electric mobility and entrepreneurial development.
Vision
We want to be a global player in nautical electrification and decarbonization through the invention, patent and development of a new 100% electric propeller that offers greater power in less space.
Team
Carlos Puerta – CEO & Co – Founder
Carlos Puerta has completed and EMBA at EAE Business School and has also a degree as a mechanical engineer at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He has collaborated on various transport conceptualization and design projects. Moreover, he has 10 years of experience in the Volkswagen Group. Carlos is experienced in technical development of platforms at a consortium level, actively collaborating with the rest of the Volkswagen Group brands. He experienced first-hand the group’s transition to sustainability through the development of the MEB range of electrified platforms.
Carlos García – CTO
Carlos García has completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master’s degree in Racing Vehicle Engineering. He has also completed various courses and specialization training in CAD, CAE, CAM, engineering project management and emerging technologies. He has extensive experience spanning 12 years in the nautical and automotive sectors. In addition to this, Carlos has also been a professor of science and technology, as well as vocational training in the area of nautical mechanics for 12 years.
Carlos Freire – Technical Advisor
Carlos Freire is a technical advisor on the project, providing support in the electrical development and integration with the battery system. He has extensive experience in nautical electrification and more specifically in battery system management. He has collaborated on various national projects in the sector and more recently as a technical advisor on one of the teams participating in the last America’s Cup. Carlos studied a degree in electronic engineering and has also completed an MBA specializing in Operations Management. He has more than 10 years’ experience as a technical consultant on projects related to naval electrification.
Carlos Mantolán – Investor & Financial Advisor
Carlos collaborates with the project as a financial advisor. He has also extensive experience in business management, as well as being one of the main investors in the project. He studied a degree in business administration and subsequently a master’s degree in taxation. He has more than 10 years of experience as a financial analyst
Joan Roselló – Cofounder
Joan works as a strategic advisor and has extensive experience in entrepreneurship, as well as being one of the main investors in the project. He studied a double degree in Law and Political Science, as well as having completed a postgraduate degree in Analysis, Strategy and Communication. He has more than 10 years of experience in business development.
